Locally Harvested Osage Chips
Hoping to have more chipped by early 2022.
This fantastic, native dye yields a vivid yellow, and gorgeous greens when combined with iron or overdyed with indigo.
Osage, a slow-growing species, was planted as a hedge in these parts before more noxious, fast growing species like eastern red cedar were popular. I've been mindfully collecting downed limbs and older trees cut out by property owners over the last several years, and these are now available to you as an excellent dye!
Mordant with alum. Use 20% osage to fiber weight.
